Cookie Policy

This page lists exactly which cookies and browser local storage (localStorage) we use — no guesswork, only what's actually in the site's code.

1. What is a cookie / localStorage

Cookies are small text files, and localStorage is a similar browser storage mechanism — both let a site remember information between visits. We do not use cookies or localStorage for advertising or cross-site tracking.

2. Third parties

Google Analytics 4 sets its own cookies to show us anonymized traffic statistics (visitor counts, most-viewed pages), but only after you accept analytics cookies in the banner or cookie settings — nothing loads before that. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

YouTube (Google): only after you click the play button on a demo video, loaded via youtube-nocookie.com privacy-enhanced mode.

3. Managing your consent

We ask for your choice with a banner on your first visit: Necessary storage always applies (the site can't work without it); Analytics only runs if you accept it. Accept and reject are given equal weight — neither is pre-selected or emphasized over the other.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer, on every page of the site and BlokMate. Withdrawing analytics consent immediately deletes the _ga/_ga_* cookies and stops Google Analytics from loading on the next page you view.

Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we'll ask again. If we ever add a new cookie category, we'll ask again regardless of how much time is left.

4. Controlling cookies

You can also delete or block cookies and localStorage through your browser settings at any time. Deleting the localStorage keys above simply resets your language/theme/consent preferences and onboarding-tour status — it does not affect your BlokMate account.
